How the Georgia-Pacific Recycling Team Applied the Five Dimensions
5 MIN
Team members started to see better results once they fully applied the five dimensions.
Four supervisors on the GP Recycling Team knew something needed to change with how they were doing business, but they weren't sure where to start.
“We were hearing loud and clear from our customers that they wanted us to perform better,” said Ray Oge, the vice president of sales and trading for GP Recycling.
The team needed to close the gap between what they were accomplishing and what they could be accomplishing if they were fully applying our principle-based framework. So, they turned to the five dimensions.
Give it a Try
The power of these stories comes when you apply the principles.
- Watch the video above again. Identify one action the GP team took that is also mentioned on the five dimensions page.
- Using the Five Dimensions to Identify and Close Gaps in Your Work tool, click on one of the arrows to expand the section and view the questions. How would you answer those questions?
- Which of the five dimensions do you think is most difficult to understand? How did the GP team approach it?
- In your role, where do you feel the greatest sense of unease (e.g., “there’s got to be a better way”)? Which dimension could best help you close the gap you have identified?
